A Rock Fell on His Leg Mangling
it Terribly
~
While at work in what is known as the Becker Stone Quarry just before noon, Tony Becker met with a very severe accident. The Becker quarry is located quite well up towards Kaufman Avenue, at where the accident occurred, the men in the quarry were working down some heavy rock from a ledge. Tony Becker was standing down below the place where the rock was being removed from, when a large piece of stone fell upon his leg.

The stone rendered Mr. Becker unconscious for a time, and when the heavy stone was removed it was found that his leg was badly crushed near the knee joint. The bones were broken and the flesh was bruised and lacerated. The Finley Hospital ambulance was at once summoned and the injured man was removed to Mercy Hospital where a physician dressed his limb. Mr. Becker is a young man and single.
