PROOF OF HIS INNOCENCE
~~
John Kraus wants to re-establish his good name. Some weeks ago he was arrested on a charge of embezzling the funds of the Central Lodge, A. O. U. W., while he was financier. A committee had examined his books and found them short, but before the case went to trial he settled the difference, maintaining, however, that he was not guilty of any criminal action.

But now Mr. Kraus claims to have the documentary evidence of his honesty, having found a receipt which he could not produce at the time of the investigation. He says the total amount the lodge claimed to be due was $1,010.75, and that he holds the receipt for $ 1, 013.80. He says further that the lodge officers have agreed to refund the money he paid them in affecting a settlement and if they don’t he will bring the matter into the courts, as much to establish his good name as to recover what is due to him.
