In her mother’s temporary absence little three year old Clara Hansen, of Broadway Street, got hold of some matches this morning and while playing with them accidentally set her dress a fire. Then the child’s screams attracted the mother’s attention and the little one’s life was thus saved. When Mrs. Hansen reached her baby’s side the flames were mounting over her little body. Neither flame nor anything else can stop a mother when her child is in danger so Mrs. Hansen tore the little one’s dress off before serious injuries were caused.

The effort, however, cost her much as her hands were severely burned. A surgeon was called an examination he found that the child was painfully blistered in the vicinity of the stomach and legs. He gave out a statement to the effect that no serious results would follow.
