A SERIOUS INJURY

In a Runaway Accident

While at work loading hay on his son’s farm, two miles north of Cascade yesterday at 4 o’clock, Anton Berger, a well-known resident of Cascade was thrown from the top of the load , a lightening upon his head, with the result that concussion of the brain was caused by the shock.

Mr. Berger was standing on top of the load when the team, became frightened and ran away. In crossing the field one of the wheels of the wagon cane in contact with an obstruction in the ground and the old gentlemen was thrown off the load with the result as stated above.

Mt. Berger was removed to his son’s home and a physician was hurriedly summoned. An examination of the wound convinced the doctor that the injury was of a very serious nature, but at noon today Mr. Berger was resting easy and hopes are entertained for his recovery.

Mr. Berger is about 60 years old and is well known in the vicinity of Cascade, where he has resided for many years.
