Right Rev. James J. Schwebach, bishop of La Crosse, arrived in Dubuque today enroute to Burlington, Iowa, where he will tomorrow unite in marriage Dubuque’s young journalist, Nicholas Gonner and Clara M. Ritter, daughter of Mr. Henry Ritter, one of Burlington’s foremost business men. The groom, Mr. Gonner, is one of the most highly known Catholic laymen in the United States.
In fact so well known that further mention is unnecessary. Bishop Schwebach, accompanied by the following Dubuque people, left this afternoon via the Burlington to attend the wedding: J. P. Gonner and wife, Miss Celestine Gonner, Math. C. Kurz and wife and Wm. A. Kurz and wife.
