BURCH’S CONDITION
~
Undergoes and Operation and is
Resting as Comfortable as
Could Be Expected
~
In the case of Ex-Mayor Burch, whose illness was mentioned in the Telegraph yesterday morning nothing especially new has developed. As before stated, specialists were summoned from Chicago and they advised that he undergo an operation. Dr. Bevin then came over, arriving here this morning, and during the forenoon the operation was performed at the family residence on West Third Street. The operation was witnessed by Dr. S. H. Guilbert, the family physician, Dr. J. R. Guthrie and Dr. Staples, and at a late hour this afternoon Mr. Burch was resting as comfortable as could be expected. Appendicitis, followed by peritonitis is the trouble and it is said the operation was successfully preformed, and unless some other complication set in the patient will recover.
