Mr. Everett E. Goodale

Mr. Everett E. Goodale married Miss Jennie Waterhouse in 1891. Two children were born to this union; George and Eva. Jennie passed away at the age of 31. At the time George was seven and Eva five. On March 29, 1904, Everett married Maude Root at Flint, Michigan. They adopted one daughter, Harriet.

Goodale continued in the business started by his father Steven. The American Hotel and livery stable were still doing a brisk business in 1900’s. Goodale established an undertaking and embalming business in the late 1900’s when hearses were pulled by horses. He was one of the first undertakers and embalmers in the area.

Eva was eighteen when she died of a ruptured appendix. George worked with his father in the hotel, livery and stable business. Goodale was active in civil and church affairs. He died on July 8, 1937.
