“MARRY IN HASTE-REPENT IN LEISURE.” - We are informed by D. Lorimer of a very singular circumstances, which if true, reveals a rather startling piece of villiany.

Last Sunday a young man named George Ferguson, visited a girl named Emma Beadle, who resided with Mr. Smith, some three miles out, near the Catfish. He represented himself as just from California, and also while there he was intimately acquainted with a brother of the girl.

He must have improved the time, for on Monday they were married. Yesterday they came to town, when Mr. Ferguson left the lady at the Julien House, and immediately thereafter left town for parts unknown. The girl was taken home by Mr. Smith.
