THE HIGLEY FUND – The trustees of the Higley fund has finished their labors and made the following report:
Invested to 7.30 bonds - $1006.60
Paid for lot and house on 14th Street - $1207.68
Deposited in bank - $180.72
Interest due on bonds, August 15 - $36.00
Total - $2481.00

Mr. George Higley is the unfortunate individual who had his arm blown off by the premature discharge of a cannon on the 22d of last February, and the above amount is what has been collected by contributions on his behalf. The committee having in charge of the funds made the above disposition of them. Mr. Higley desires us to return his heartfelt thanks to the public for their sympathy and interest manifested in something more substantial than words of compensation.
