To the Editor of the Dubuque Herald:
An extract was published in your paper a few days since stating that Capt. A. B. Moreland, of Co. G., 5th Iowa Calvary, has been recently married to an Indian squaw. Since that notice I have seen a member of the same regiment, who has just returned from the west, who states that he knows the statement to be false. I have been acquainted with Capt. Moreland from his infancy, and know him to be a man of the highest honor and most strict integrity, and I take this opportunity to correcting a ? and infamous slander.
