FIRES – On Saturday afternoon the building in Bankston settlement, Iowa Township, formerly owned and occupied by Larry Duggan, Esq. for a store, accidentally caught fire and was wholly destroyed, together with a two year old colt, and a lot of wagon stuff. The loss was about $400.00 - no insurance.

The same afternoon, some haystacks, belonging to Dennis Flanigan, Concord Township, were burned, five in number, with 180 bushels of wheat, all the oats and barley he had, together with his stable and studs. The origin is unknown.
