Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Uhlrich, of 60 Edison Street, Wednesday, celebrated in the appropriate manner their Fiftieth wedding anniversary. They were married at Rock Island, Ill., in 1858, Mr. Uhlrich now being 74 years old while, Mrs. Uhlrich is his senior by two years, being now 76 years old.

This semi-centennial event was made more pleasant to them by the presence of their children who assisted in the celebration and the merry making. The children are Messrs. and Mesdames, Ernest Sanders, Dubuque; F. J. Hoelting, Galena; Edward Hornung, Dubuque; George Hatzebuhler, Dubuque; H. J. Wiedner, St. Paul, Minn.; F. A. Uhlrich, Dubuque, and R. L. Woodward, Dubuque.

A pleasant feature of the celebration was the reception by Mr. Uhlrich of a congratulatory letter from the vice president of the Metropolitan Insurance Company with which he is employed. A fine turkey also came from the same place, while a purse of gold made up by the employees and officers of the company, and another purse, made up by the children, served to indicate to the happy old people in what high esteem they are held.
