Dumped Out of a Buggy

A party composed of Mrs. George Steukel, Peter George, and the Misses Lena and Gertie and John Rosscup, all young people living in the Centralia area had an exciting experience last week. They were going to a dance and were driving a single horse attached to a surrey. The night was dark so much that it was almost impossible to keep in the road by driving so the animal was allowed to pick its own way through. In turning a curve the horse had gotten to far onto the outside of the thoroughfare and the consequence was the rig was upset in the ditch, throwing all the occupants onto the ground. Mrs. Steukel received a broken nose while Miss Lena Rosscup had her wearing apparel badly torn, but was not injured. The other members of the party were uninjured.
