Joseph Featherston: Former Catholic Charities official Featherston dies: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice
Telegraph Herald (Dubuque, IA) - Monday, August 18, 2014A man who spent more than 30 years at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Dubuque has died.
Joseph Featherston, 69, died Saturday of chordoma cancer.
A licensed social worker, Featherston worked 33 years for Catholic Charities in Dubuque, retiring as its associate director in 2010.
Featherston also traveled the country as an American Red Cross disaster relief volunteer, spending two weeks counseling in New York in the immediate aftermath of 9/11.
In retirement, Featherston served as chairman of Dubuque's 2011 Recovery Fund - a charitable campaign held in the wake of local flash floods.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road.
