Mrs. Sarah Cline
Funeral services were conducted
from the Methodist
church at Spirit Lake Tuesday
afternoon. April 5, at 2 o'clock
for Mrs. Sarah Cline, 86, who
died Friday, April 1, at a nursing
home in Cedar Rapids.
The Rev. R. J. Guderian offici-
ated at the services and special
music was provided by Paul Redington
who sang several selec-.
tions and was accompanied by;
Mrs. Redington. Burial was in
the family plot at Lakeview
cemetery at Spirit Lake. Pallbearers
were Evard Williams, C.
C. Gravatt, Dale Lundstrom, Hubie
Waugh, Joe Liggett and Earl
Hartman.
Sarah Doll Cline was born Nov
28, 1868, the first daughter of
Jacob and Martha Doll . in a
log cabin farm home in North
English. She married Charles
Luther Cline on Feb. 22, 1899 at
her parents' farm home. After
their marriage, Mr. and Mrs.
Cline came to Dickinson county
to establish a farm home and
farmed in this county many
years. Later they went to South
Dakota where they spent two
years and then returned to Dickinson
county and again established
a farm home. In 1916 they
moved to Spirit Lake and purchased
the present family home.
Mrs. Cline is survived by five
children. They are George H.
Cline, Knoxville Mrs. Nan Cline
Winburn, Cedar Rapids; Leslie
E. Cline, Omaha, Neb.; Mrs.
Mary Cline Schaub, Wlnterhaven,
Pla.; and the Rev. Charles M.
Cline, Miami Beach, Pla. She is
also survived by her husband,
Charles, two daughters-in-law,
four grandchildren and one sister,
Mrs. Margaret Rowe of
North English, several nieces and
nephews. She was preceded in
death by a brother, George, and
three sisters, Melissa Baines, Mrs.
Arbela Rowe and Mrs. Nan Vick.
Mrs. Cline was a member of
the Methodist church, joining
when a child in North English
and later transfering her membership
to the Methodist church
at Spirit Lake. She was a member
of the Women's Christian
Temperance Union and the Parent-
Teachers Association.
