Alexander J. Trego Dies of Cerebral
Hemorrhage at Soldiers’ Home
Cerebral hemorrhage caused the death at 3:45 this morning at the soldiers’ home hospital of Alexander J. Trego, who came to this home Nov. 5, 1897, from Oto, Woodbury County.
Mr. Trego was born in Northumberland county, Pennsylvania April 22, 1836.
He enlisted in Company I Seventh Iowa Cavalry Nov. 4, 1861, at Sioux City and was discharged Nov. 23, 1864 at the same place.
Mr. Trego West was a bachelor and is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Walton of Oto, and Mrs. Rosina Crawford of Howard, Mich. The body will be sent tonight to Oto for burial.
