BEN VON HOLDT

Funeral services for Ben Von Holdt were held on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p. m. from the Lake Park United Methodist Church with the Reverend Harvey A. Walker officiating.

Ben passed away at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital on Monday, April 1. 1974.

Ben Von Holdt was the son of Peter and Mary Beelman Von Holdt and was born on January 24, 1896. He never married and spent his life farming near Lake Park until 1942. He then did carpentry work until his retirement in 1962. He was a resident of the Hilltop Nursing Home and had been in failing health. He entered the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital op March and passed away there on Monday, April 1, 1974. He had attained the age of 78 years, 2 months and 7 days.

He leaves, to cherish his memory three brothers, John, Herman and Ray Von Holdt all of Lake Park, la; two sisters, Mrs. Chris (Anna) Hass and Mrs. Margaret Bergendahl also of Lake Park, la.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Clayton Arnold was the organist and also accompanied Mrs. Allan McClain who sang "Abide with Me “

Burial was in the Silver Lake Cemetery at Lake Park with the following as pallbearers, Allan McClain, Howard Burnside, Harold McCauley, Dick Jensen, Charles Denker, and Leonard Jacobsen.

The Harpple-Tehold Funeral Home of Lake Park were in charge of the arrangements
