Obituary—Leo DeMuth
The community was deeply grieved Sunday when it became known that death had come to Leo DeMuth at 12:15 that morning. Leo became ill late last fall and after a trip to Iowa City for examination, returned there Jan. 18, and underwent major surgery.

He returned home and for a while improved enough to be able to be down town a few times. For several weeks he has been confined to his home and in bed.

Mr. DeMuth was born April 29, 1894, at Milford, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter DeMuth, and died at his home here April 23, 1950, at the age of 55 years, 11 months and 23 days. Leo spent his entire life in this community, with the exception of eight years, from 1902 to 1910, when he accompanied his parents to Missouri.

He was married Dec. 1, 1917, in Milford, to Pearl Rickabaugh, and to this union four children were born. They are: Mrs. Barbara Jane Christopherson of Milford, Mrs. Marion Pritchard of Wayland, Iowa, Duane DeMuth of Milford and Daryl DeMuth of Sioux Falls.

For a number of years Mr. DeMuth has been in the floor finishing and commercial boating business. His pleasant disposition and expert workmanship made many friends for him in a large territory. He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic church in Milford.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, two daughters, nine grandchildren and six brothers and sisters, who are: Mame Stell of Highland, Wis.; Jane Schmitz of Sheridan, Wyo.; Paul DeMuth of Eden, N.Y.; Edward DeMuth of Arcadia, Calif.; Joe DeMuth of Milford; and Victor DeMuth of Milford.

Casket bearers at the services were Russell Brady, Carl Habena, Albert Wittrock, Louis Moritz, Warren Miller, and James McDonald Sr.

Relatives from a distance who were here for the services include Mame Stell and son, Earl, of Highland, Wis., Paul DeMuth of Eden, NY, Ed DeMuth of Arcadia, Calif., and Mrs. Marion Pritchard of Wayland, Iowa.

Leo will be missed in our community, and his many friends extend condolence to his family.
