Yvonne Halbur of Hinesville, Ga., departed this life on Sept. 9, 2013.

A native of Spencer,Iowa, Yvonne was born on June 15, 1955, to the late Lavella and Louis Fuller.

Yvonne and Rich married on July 22, 1972, and spent the next 20 years traveling around the world as a U.S. Army family, finally settling in Hinesville, Ga., in 1992 when Richard retired from the service.

Yvonne was an extremely hardworking person, and began her work as a candy striper at Spencer Hospital in Iowa, where she also worked part-time as a waitress at Stubb's Restaurant. She managed the local Block Buster store in Hinesville for years and spent the last 19 years as a LPN at Memorial Hospital, Savannah, Ga., and Winn Army Medical Center, Fort Stewart, Ga. She was, first and foremost, a caregiver to everyone.

She devoted much of her time to Saint Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church of Hinesville, where her husband serves as Deacon. She was dedicated to the Holy Rosary, Divine Mercy and community activities. Her smile and support will be missed there.

Yvonne's passions in life included the love of her life, her husband Rich, along with their children and grandchildren. She enjoyed the beach, reading, her tuxedo cats, holidays, and walking. She also loved healing and educating diabetics.

She is preceded in death by her sister Cindy Smith and brother Lynn Fuller.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Deacon Richard Halbur; her son, Bryan Halbur and wife Terry of Melbourne, Fla.; daughter, Angela and husband Michael Amrine of Hoover, Ala.; son, Brent Halbur and wife Stephanie of Ratcliffe, Ky.; 11 grandchildren, Patricia and Brett Rivers, Lindsay, Nicholas and Lily Halbur, Christian Saxon, Megan and Adah Amrine, Austin and Cameron Stoyle, Brendan and Jayden Halbur; and one great granddaughter, Raelyn Rivers. She is also survived by one sister, Marcia Rogne of Loveland, Colo.

Wake will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel, 308 West Oglethorpe Drive, Hinesville, Ga.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, at Saint Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church, Hinesville, Ga., with Father Adam Kasela officiating.

Internment will be at Hinesville Cemetery, Hinesville, Ga.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church.
