William Winterringer passed away Wednesday afternoon in a Sioux City hospital following an operation, performed about a week ago in the hope of affording relief from a complication of disease, from which he had suffered for some time.
The body will be brought to Hartington at noon Friday and taken at once to the Methodist church where the funeral services will be held under the direction of the local Grand Army post, by Rev. G. M. Pendell.
Mr. Winterringer came to Cedar county in 1881 and for 20 years farmed what is now known as the Greenwood place west of town. He retired from active work in 1901 and has since made his home in Hartington.
He is survived by Mrs. Winterringer and four step-children, Mrs. J. M. Lichty and James Wood of Sioux City, Henry Wood of Dakota and John Wood of Hartington.
