Christina (VanOort) Sproessig

Funeral services for Christina (VanOort) Sproessig, 64, of Baytown, Texas, and formerly of Milford, were held on Thursday, Aug. 15,1985, at 10 a.m. at the Earthman Funeral Chapel in Baytown, with the Rev. Herbert Eifert officiating. She passed away Monday, Aug. 12,1985, at a Pasadena hospital. Burial was at Memory Gardens in Baytown, Texas.Pall bearers were Mark and Douglas Fuqua, Tomma Eastman, Barry Wilson, Joe Love and Buck Waldrop.

Christina, the daughter of Simon and Artie (Mol) VanOort, was born near Sheldon, coming to Milford when she was six or seven years old. She received her education in Milford and graduated from Milford High School. An 18-year resident of Baytown, she was a former employee of Jim Bond Insurance Agency.

Survivors include five daughters, Sharon Pregeant of Anahuac, Texas, Donna Jean Reed of Baytown, Texas, Linda Bost of Pasadena, Texas, Joneine Eastman of Old River, Texas, and Joyce Anne Sproessig of Princeton, Mn.; one son. Donald J. Sproessig of Old River, Texas; four sisters, Anna Elvin of Spencer, Henrietta Green of Milford, Artie Graham of Webster City and Marian Gruchow of Waterloo; two brothers, John VanOort of Anchorage, Ak., and Chris VanOort of Milford; and 11 grandchildren.
