Faye M. Froendt 1889-1978
Funeral services for Faye M. Froendt, 90, of Arnolds Park were held at the Friends Church in Arnolds Park Tuesday, Jan. 2 with Rev. Boyd Bonebrake officiating. Vocalist was Eldon Ferguson singing "Going Home" and "The Old Rugged Cross", accompanied by organist, Mrs. Bud Elston.
Pall bearers were Howard Titterington, Clarke Shelton, Bob Mann, Melvin Froendt, Raymond Guritz, and Joe Estes. Interment was in Lakeland Memory Gardens, Spirit Lake, la.
Faye M. Froendt was born to Maynard Titterington and Minnie (Fellows) Titterington at Audubon on March 29, 1889. She attended school there, graduating in 1908. On Feb. 16,1917 she married George Froendt at the home of her parents at Milford. To this union, two children were born, Lenard and Lucile.
Faye spent most of her life in the Arnolds Park and Milford areas. George was a former police chief of Arnolds Park. She taught school for eight years in Audubon and Dickinson counties. She and George farmed in the Milford area until 1931 when they moved to Arnolds Park. Faye was a cook at the Arnolds Park School for about 20 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star-Gloaming Chapter 225 of Milford. She was also a member of the Presbyterian Church at Audubon. Faye died Dec. 27 at the Huntington Beach Inter-Community Hospital at Huntington Beach, Calif.
Survivors include: her son, Lenard of Fountain Valley, Calif; daughter Lucile F. Shorey of Spirit Lake; three grandchildren, Kathleen Fox, Mary Belcher, and Jacqueline Stoddard, all of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, three sisters and four brothers
