Independence Titterington

Independence 'Indy' Titterington, 85, died Nov. 7, 1997, in the Sister James Nursing Home in Yankton, S.D. Memorial services were on Nov. 8, 1997, at Ray-Lane Funeral Chapel in Yankton, S.D., with entombment in Garden of Memories Mausoleum Niche.

'Indy" Morton Was born July 4, 1912, in Lakefield, Minn. Her parents had moved to the United States from Europe two months before her birth. She graduated from high school in Fairmont, Minn. After school, she moved to Minneapolis, where she owned an antique store. She married Bob Titterington on Aug. 28, 1948, in Minneapolis. The couple lived in California before moving to Yankton in 1954, where they owned Bob's Jewelry Store.

Her husband preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, Brett of Yankton; two brothers: Jack of Marshalltown, and Larry of Webster City; and a sister Mae Brown of Spirit Lake, and Toots Marchand of Yankton, S.D.
