Charles Whitney is buried in Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington, Iowa [Plot: 320S 006K];

According to the 1925 Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa Census, his parents were John Whitney and Mary Houghton and he was born in New York. Other family trees list his birth date as May 20, 1860.

BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR CHARLES WHITNEY
Mr. and Mrs. George Elgin entertained at Masonic temple Wednesday afternoon for Charles Whitney, the occasion being his 82nd birthday. Twenty-nine brother masons of the celebrant were present. Mrs. Tillie Muenzenmeyer, Mrs. Vern Ham, Mrs. James Israel and Mrs. Wilma Elgin assisted.
