I am trying to verify that John S. Swope was the first white male child born in IA.on 10 Oct 1835. He was supposed to be the son of Joseph and Margaret Swope. I need to confirm to help out a Texas cemetery who is dedicating a Confederate headstone for him on 3/22/03. The information above was gleaned from his obit.
