Upon further research, I've discovered the name of the persons involved in this were Elias Corey and his daughter, Ella, of Wilton, IA. Not related to my Coreys but an interesting story for someone else! The story can be found in the Iowa State Register, May 28, 1875 and online at www.newpaperabstracts.com The article named the dozen or so women arrested in connection with the assult on Ella Cory.
