Hazel M. Granaman, 98, of Burlington, formerly of Sperry, died at 4:45 p.m. Friday, July 11, 1997, at Community Care of Mediapolis.
Born May 8, 1899, in Dodgeville, she was the daughter of Ira D. and Abbie Blanche Larkin Marshall. On February 22, 1922, she married William Granaman in Burlington. He died April 11, 1972.
Mrs. Granaman was a homemaker. She also worked in the YWCA cafeteria, where she baked pies.
She was a charter member of United Methodist Church of Sperry and active in UMW (United Methodist Women). She later attended Harmony Bible Church with her family after moving to Burlington.
She attended Green College Country School and Burlington Business College.
Survivors include four daughters, Lois Dowell, Betty Brockway, Evelyn Murguia and Shirley Hales, all of Burlington; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.
Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. today in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The funeral for Mrs. Granaman will be 10 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church of Sperry, with the Reverends John Gaulke and Leonard Schantz officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
