Dora Horn, 77, of West Burlington died at 6:18 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born August 15, 1934, in Fairfield, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Lola Stucker Davis. On December 29, 1953, she married Lyle Horn in Preston, Minnesota. They divorced.

Ms. Horn worked 26 years as an industrial nurse at General Electric in Burlington, retiring in 1996. She graduated from Yarmouth High School and Iowa Methodist School of Nursing. She was a member and elder of Shinar Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Pleasant Grove.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Horn of Yarmouth and Jeffrey Horn of West Burlington; three grandchildren; and one sister, Kay Helt of West Burlington.

She was preceded in death by one son, her grandparents and parents.

No visitation is planned. The body has been cremated.

The memorial service for Ms. Horn will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Shinar Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Pleasant Grove, with the Reverend Shane McCampbell officiating. Burial will be in Shinar Cumberland Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for Great River Hospice House and Shinar Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Lunning Chapel in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.
