Richard Lavine

Richard P. Lavine, 49, of 1705 Olive St., died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 1988, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born Sept. 18, 1938, at Dubuque, he was the son of Charles O. and Alice Fischer Lavine. He married Deloros Hummer March 18, 1962, in Burlington. She died Aug. 20, 1987.

He was a warehouse manager for the Pepsi Cola Company for 33 years. He was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ, Local 218, member and past president of the Burlington Bowling Association and on the Burlington Men's Bowling Hall of Fame in 1986. He was an Army veteran.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Kele Harris, Burlington, and Mrs. Karen Wathen, Des Moines; his father, Burlington; one brother, Lyle Lavine, Phoenix, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Lunning Chapel.

The service for Mr. Lavine will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Duane Cavins officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
