Darlene Pearl Brockett, 64, of Gulfport, Ill., died at 9:29 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 1993, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born Aug. 17, 1928, at Burlington, she was the daughter of Merle and Katherine Bender Conn. She Married Harve "Hap" Brockett in February, 1948, at Burlington.

She was employed at Sylvania of Burlington and later worked for 10 years at the Monmouth, Ill. Nursing Home as a nurse's aid. She also worked for five years in the laundry department at Burlington Medical Center, and for 10 years as a nurse's aid at the Elmview Care Center.

She was active with Pee Wee and Little Leagues at Gladstone, Ill. for many years and worked in the concession stand.

Survivors include her husband, of Carman, Ill.; two sons, Marvin L. Brockett of Gulfport and Roger A. Brockett, Sr. of Lomax, Ill.; five grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Lutteneger of Kingston.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be Tuesday and Wednesday at Sederwall Chapel of Biggsville, Ill. where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The funeral for Mrs. Brockett will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sederwall Chapel with Pastor Chris Hansen officiating. Burial will be at Carman Cemetery at Carman.

A memorial has been established for the Gulfport Ambulance and Fire Department.
