Alta Anna Riemann, 87, of Mediapolis, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1993, at her home.

Born April 25, 1906, at Sperry, she was the daughter of Fred and Mathilda Breuer Benkert. She married George Riemann on Sept. 3, 1927, at West Burlington.

She lived most of her life in Kingston and Mediapolis. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband in their trucking and filling station business at Kingston. She attended the Middletown school system and was of the Protestant faith.

Survivors include her husband; seven daughters, Winona Anderson of Oakville, Dorothy Springsteen of Burlington, Virginia Kidder of Knoxville, Marcelle Brown, Doris Rechkemmer and Velma Keitzer, all of Mediapolis, and Florence Miller of Mount Union; a son, Donald Riemann of Longmont, Colo.; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, Mediapolis.

The funeral for Mrs. Riemann will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home with the Rev. John Gaulke officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.

Memorials have been established for Mediapolis Methodist Church and the Mediapolis Community Ambulance Service.
