Wran Van Osdol

Wran W. Van Osdol, 82, of 1022 South Seventh Street, died Sunday, February 14, 1988, at the Bethesda Care Center, Mediapolis.

Born April 28, 1904, in Des Moines County, he was the son of Thomas and Mattie Walker Van Osdol. On September 2, 1925, in Danville, he married Bessie Talbert.

He was the co-owner, with his brother, John, of the Van Osdol Motor Company and was Burlington City Treasurer before retiring. He was past president of the Kiwanis Club and a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and the Fidelis Class of the church.

Surviving are two sons, Forrest Van Osdol and Dean Van Osdol, both of Burlington; one daughter, Juanita Cloyd, Kearney, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Sheagren Funeral Home. The service for Mr. Van Osdol will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Grace United Methodist Church with the Reverend Jim Siebert officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Grace United Methodist Church.
