John Richard "Dick" Huffman, 68, of Burlington, died at Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, Iowa, on Monday, February 21, 2011.

Born on August 4, 1942 in Burlington, Iowa, he was the son of John Harvey and Hazel Bennett Huffman. He married Melody Sue Busard on April 3, 1971 in Stronghurst, Illinois.

Dick graduated from Burlington High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was an over-the-road truck driver for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and small engines. He loved spending time with his family and caring for his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Melody; two daughters, Heather (Chris) Kipp of Burlington, Iowa and Tracie Huffman of Burlington, Iowa; three grandchildren, Trevor, Trenton, Kaitlyn, and a fourth grandchild on the way; two brothers, Dennis Huffman of Lomax, Illinois and David Huffman of Maitland, Florida; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Delores Norton.
