Ronald Campbell

Mr. Ronald W. Campbell, 84, of rural Burlington, died at 9:34 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport.

Born December 25, 1926 in Burlington, he was the son of William and Nellie Gibbs Campbell. On February 6, 1948 he married Wanda Hillyard in Canton, Missouri.

Mr. Campbell was a World War II Army veteran. He was a farmer and trucker all his life.

Mr. Campbell was a member of Kingston United Methodist Church and enjoyed farming, get-togethers, day trips, fishing, hunting and the Mississippi River. He always loved going to Lansing, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Wanda Campbell of rural Burlington; four children, Connie (Wayne) Beckman of New London, Sandy (Rick) McLaughlin of Mediapolis, Rhonda Ferrill of Burlington and Tim (Paula) Campbell of Mediapolis; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Daniel Campbell.

Visitation will be from noon until 8 p.m. Friday, February 11th, in Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.

The funeral service for Mr. Campbell will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 12th, in Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Mel Miller and Mr. Bill Kreamalmyer officiating. Interment will be in Edwards Cemetery, Oakville.

A memorial has been established.
