Born Jan. 29, 1927, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Lawrence E. and Marie Mackin McLaughlin. On July 18, 1944, she married Ralph Edward Siefken in Dodgeville. He died June 3, 1999.
Mrs. Siefken worked in food service at Burlington Community Schools for 19 years and worked part-time at Burlington Bank & Trust for 18 years, retiring Dec. 31, 1996.
She was a 1944 graduate of Sperry High School, where she was on the basketball team. She was a member of SS. John and Paul Catholic Church, UTC, Civic Music Association and Good News Club. She enjoyed socializing, eating out, gardening and canning.
Survivors include five sons, Ray Siefken, Robert Siefken, Dan Siefken and Roger Siefken, all of Burlington, and Tom Siefken of Rockford, Ill.; three daughters, Mary Ann Neff and Joanne Cook, both of Burlington, and Carol Wagler of New London; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles McLaughlin of Baton Rouge, La., and Harold McLaughlin of Pascagoula, Miss.; and four sisters, Mary Laue of Rocklin, Calif., Kathleen McLaughlin of Burlington, Martha Hogan of Des Moines and Margaret Bellamy of St. Cloud, Minn.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, one granddaughter, her parents, three brothers and two sisters. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
