Mrs. Lillian Alice Hartman, 212 Marietta, died at her home Friday at 6:30 p.m. following an extended illness.
She was born at Middletown, Oct. 21, 1878, the daughter of Herschel and Nancy Jane Johnson Hand, and was married to Ed Orton in Burlington, May 4,1897.
Orton died in 1935 and she was remarried to Albert Hartman at Kahoka, Mo., in 1943. Hartman died Nov. 21, 1958.
She was a member of the First Methodist church and the Hawkeye Natives.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Esther Lindgren, Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, Leslie Hand, Burlington and Frank Hand, Watsonville, Calif.; 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in Prugh's chapel, Monday at 2 p.m. Dr. George C. Hunt will officiate. Burial will be in Carman cemetery.
