Carole Alene Heitmeier, 72, of Hillsboro died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011.

Born July 9, 1939, on a farm near Jimtown in Des Moines County, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Gladyce Ambler Shull. On June 9, 1957, she married Mahlon Millard in Oakland Mills. He died in 1968.

Ms. Heitmeier graduated from college with a degree in accounting in 1985. She and her current husband have lived in Hillsboro since 1992.

She enjoyed quilting, shopping in flea markets and time with family.

Survivors include her husband Gary Frisbie; one son, Sydney Millard of New London; one brother, Jim Shull of New London; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by one son, two daughters, her parents and two brothers.

No visitation is planned.

The memorial service for Ms. Heitmeier will be at a later date.
