Linsley Kerr

Linsley T. Kerr, 91, died Thursday, March 16, (1961) in Des Moines General Hospital, Des Moines, (Iowa). He was the father of Edgar Z. Kerr and Mrs. Rebecca Inghram and the brother of Ira Kerr, all of Burlington.

A native of Louisa county, Kerr was born Oct. 18, 1869, the son of Richard and Amanda Miller Kerr. In 1887 he was married to Minnie Mary Hank; she died previously, as did two infant sons.

In addition to the son and daughter in Burlington, two other sons and two other daughters also survive: Albert T. Kerr, Wapello; Walter W. Kerr, Mediapolis; Mrs. Hazel Gwin, Columbus City, and Mrs. Mildred Peterson, of Chariton,(Iowa).

Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-granchildren.

Last rites will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Pierce funeral home, in Morning Sun. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald D. Petrak of Chariton, (Iowa). Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery, at Morning Sun (Iowa).
