The funeral services for Mrs. Amelia Unterkircher will be held from the home, 450 High Street, Burlington, tomorrow [September 14, 1918] afternoon at 2:30 o’clock and will be private. Interment services in Aspen Grove Cemetery will also be private. Friends are requested to omit flowers.

Mrs. Unterkircher, wife of Fred L. Unterkircher, passed away last night [September 12, 1918] at 10 o’clock from an attack of apoplexy, after an illness of several years, having suffered two previous strokes.

She was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Meyer, and born at Franklin, Iowa, May 10, 1858, being sixty years old at the time of death. She was united in marriage to Mr. Unterkircher in 1880, and two daughters were born to the happy union.

Several years ago she suffered the first stroke, and later another, and although her health was failing, she was a patient sufferer, always keeping good cheer in the home and had a smile and kind word for her friends.

Mrs. Unterkircher was a member of Zion Evangelical Church, and was always a faithful member and an unselfish worker in the church functions until ill health prevented. Owing to her long residence in Burlington and her many good qualities she had a host of friends here who mourn her passing with the deepest regret and sorrow.

Besides her husband he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Roy Smith of Fort Madison and Mrs. Carl Jacobsen of Burlington; a granddaughter, Mollie Virginia Smith of Fort Madison, two brothers, C.G. Meyer of Tiffin, Ohio, who was here when she passed away, and Philip Meyer of Tonapah, Nevada; and one sister, Mrs. Lucinda Kauffman of St. Louis, who is at present ill from an apopletic attack.
