Voltage Kills ISU Lineman

Daniel Lee Schnicker, 21, Agency road, was electrocuted at 12:30 p.m. Monday, June 17, while performing line construction work at the south edge of Wapello.

Schnicker, a lineman for Iowa Southern Utilities, came in contact with a power line carrying 7,600 volts of electricity.

He was born in Burlington June 27, 1952, to Harold and Virginia Smith Schnicker. He married Marilyn Leezer Nov. 4, 1972, in Burlington.

A 1970 graduate of Burlington high school, he was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Eagles Aerie 150 and the National Guard.

Surviving: The wife, the parents, Burlington; brothers David, West Burlington, and Douglas, Burlington; sister Diane, Burlington; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Schincker, Washington road.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday, Rev. David Michael, Zion United Church of Christ; Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Zion United Church of Christ.
