FUNERAL FOR ROBERT E. LEE

Mr. Robert E. Lee, 57, 317 West Pennington, West Burlington, Iowa, died in Veterans Hospital, Iowa City, Ia. Monday at 12:45 p.m.
He was born in Hillsboro, May 12, 1907, the son of Ed and Nellie Cook Lee. He married Erlene Baity in Burlington March 21, 1944.
Mr. Lee was property disposal officer at the Iowa Army Ammunitions Plant. He was a member of Middletown Presbyterian Church, and the Elks. He was in the Navy during World War II, in the South Pacific.
Survivors include his wife; a step-daughter, Mrs. Shirley (Richard) Rhum of Danville; a step-son, Rod Wilkerson of Salem; a brother, A.J. Lee, of Salem; a sister, Mrs. Leon Smith of Albia; and six grandchildren. His parents, a sister and two brothers preceded him in death.
Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Middletown Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Frederic Volzke officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington. The body is at Prugh’s chapel.
