A. A. Michael Curtis Ballard, 22, of 1200 Patterson St., died Friday, Feb. 20, at Norfolk General Hospital, Norfolk, Va., as a result of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident on Valentine's Day.

Born Aug. 20, 1964, in Burlington, he was the son of Roger C. and Helen Murphy Ballard. He was a 1983 graduate of Burlington High School. He worked at the Burlington Senior Citizens Center as driver and helper before joining the Navy two years ago. He was a member of the St. Paul's Catholic Church.

Surviving are his mother, Helen Ballard; two brothers, Mark Ballard and Eric Ballard, Burlington; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Murphy, Burlington; and several aunts and uncles.

Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
