Michael Schreiber passed away at 7:45 o'clock last evening at the home of his son Jacob Schreiber, No. 2019 River street. His good wife passed away on May 3, and it was apparent to his family and friends that they would soon be reunited. The old gentleman was born in Germany, March 18, 1826 and came to Burlington in 1866. Here he followed the trade of a stone cutter for many years, a good, honest, industrious man, who had many friends. The burdens of the years compelled his retirement from active work, years ago. He is survived by five sons: Fred, William and Jacob Schreiber, of this city; George Schreiber, of St. Paul, and Edward Schreiber, of Omaha. The funeral will take place from St. John's Catholic Church at 9:30 o'clock Saturday morning with interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
