Virginia A. Gerling, 70, of 20475 Front Street, Mediapolis, died Saturday, November 2, 1996, at Burlington Medical Center.

Born September 23, 1926, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Henry and Matilda Scheihing Luttenegger. On May 7, 1949, she married Leslie Gerling at Burlington.

Mrs. Gerling worked at I.R.C. in Burlington for 18 years. She was a graduate of Burlington High School. She was a member of Kingston United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband; one brother, Paul Luttenegger of Burlington; one sister, Dorothy Hoschek of Burlington, and one son-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter and two brothers.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis. There will be no family visitation.

The funeral for Mrs. Gerling will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home, with the Reverend Judith Shields officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.
