Charles "Chuck" Meyer, 73, of Canton, Texas, formerly of Danville, died in Grand Saline, Texas.

Born in Danville, he was the son of Charles Harold and Marie Katherine Behne Meyer, Sr. He was married 51 years to Dorothy Simpson.

He was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed fishing and gambling boats. He liked staying home and playing solitaire.

Survivors include his wife of Canton; two daughters, Doreen Mewbourn of Terrell, Texas, and Beth Garvey of Plano, Texas; one son, Dean Meyer of Fruitvale, Texas; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Pat Coakley of Burlington; Nadine of Belvidere, Ill., and Anita Lewis of Pottsville, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held at Eubank Chapel in Canton, with the Rev. Steve Glosup officiating.
