BEHNE RITES ON THURSDAY

Military rites for John H. Behne, 58, veteran of World War I, will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Weston Behner funeral home. Dr. E. A. Piper will officiate, and burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. Behne passed away at 2 p.m. yesterday at the Jefferson county hospital where he had been a patient for two days. He had been in failing health the past several months.

The war veteran was born January 13, 1889, in Burlington, Iowa, the son of the late Henry and Sophia Behne. He was united in marriage to Rachel Pickett on November 16, 1925, at Galesburg, Illinois.

Mr. Behne had been a resident of the community for over 21 years and was a member of the Lutheran church and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife and three brothers: Albert, Fremont, Ohio; George, Clyde, Ohio; and Walter, Burlington, Iowa
