MRS. J. HERMANN DEAD
An Old and Faithful Member of the
German M.E. Church

Mrs. Mary Hermann passed away at the Burlington hospital at 6:50 o'clock Friday morning, after an illness of a week, death being due to pleuro-pneumonia. Mary Hasenjager was born in this county, July 29, 1849. She was married to Jacob Hermann August 18, 1870. He was engaged in the boot and shoe business here, and passed away some thirty-five years ago. The greater part of her life was spent in this city. And she was one of the staunch members of the First German M. E. Church. Of the four children born to Mr. and Mrs. Hermann, on died in infancy. The surviving children are William F. Hermann of this city, with whom the good woman had been making her home; Mrs. J.A. Crocker of Mt. Union; and Mrs. M.P. Freeland of Kansas City, Kan. There are two grandchildren, Kenneth Hermann and Olephia Crocker. During her almost life-long residence in Burlington, Mrs. Hermann had won a host of friends, who will hold her in kind remembrance.
The funeral will be held Sunday, February 18 at 2:30 p.m. from the First German M.E. Church and friends are invited to these services and for the relatives at the home of Mr. William F. Hermann, 108 S. Gunnison street at 1:30 p.m. The interment will be private.
