Floreine Klenk

Floreine Cornelia Klenk, 98, of New London died at 5:55 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at New London Nursing and Rehab in New London.

Born July 26, 1916, in Holdrege, Neb., she was the daughter of Adelbert Andrew and Rosa Almedia Borg Cover. On July 16, 1937, she married Russell Ray Klenk in Burlington. He died Nov. 16, 2000.

Mrs. Klenk worked at J. C. Penney Co. for 17 years.

She graduated from Huron High School.

She and her husband made a choice to serve God and spent time in Florida, Texas, Mexico and toured Alaska. They enjoyed gospel meetings and conventions.

She was an expert seamstress and talented musician.

She enjoyed fishing and time with her children, grandchildren and friends. She was known for her determination and stability.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Klenk of Oakville and Richard Klenk of Burlington; one daughter, Janice Brown of New London; 13 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday at Thielen Funeral Home in Burlington, where family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

The funeral for Mrs. Klenk will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Thielen Funeral Home, with Pat Johnson and Greg Willert officiating. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will be after burial in the community room at Thielen Funeral Home.

A memorial has been established.
