Marilyn Wagner

Marilyn J. Wagner, 48, of rural West Burlington, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2002, at her home.

Born Oct. 7, 1953, in Burlington, she was the daughter of William Robert and Dorothy L. Hawkins Horst. She married Dacid R. Wagner Nov. 17, 1988, at the Bonaparte Baptist Church.

She was a 1971 graduate of Burlington High School and received her associate's degree from Southeastern Community College in 1988.

Mrs. Wagner had been the manager of the Bob Dodds Insurance Agency in Danville for 27 years. She attended Harmony Bible Church.

She enjoyed sewing, yard work and helping with the farm. She was an avid quilter and a member of the Heritage Quilt Guild.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Brian Carden of Lacon, Ill.; her mother of Burlington; one brother, William D. Horst of Des Moines; two sisters, Nancy A. Crowell of West Burlington, and Janet L. Baird of Sperry; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Linda Gittings of Burlington.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Friends may call after 8 a.m. Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Lunning Chapel.

The funeral for Mrs. Wagner will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Harmony Bible Church with the Revs. Mark Connelly and Richard Latta officiating. Burial will be in Long Creek Cemetery in Danville.

A memorial has been established.
