Betty Elaine (Christensen) Hobbs

Born Sept. 15, 1921, in Frankfort, Indiana, she was the daughter of Emil and Lucille Leidig Christensen. On November 15, 1941, she married Ralph "Jack" Hobbs in Burlington at Trinity Lutheran Church. He died September 22, 2001.
She was a homemaker. She worked in the accounting office for Hobbs Plumbing and Heating in Burlington. She was a 1939 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member of Eastern Star. She volunteered as a Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and was an expert in the kitchen.
Survivors include one son, Jack (Nancy) Hobbs of Burlington; one daughter, Susan E. (Wally) Dailey of Elgin, Minn.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Nancy Hobbs.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday in Prugh's Chapel.
The funeral for Mrs. Hobbs will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2007, in Prugh's Chapel with the Rev. Tom Smith officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
